Flash Developer for Cackleberries International ESL
Cackleberries is an ethical, socially responsible company that provides the highest quality children's entertainment products. Everything we are and do reflects our commitment to children. We are looking for 3 Flash developers to start immediately working on our ESL program. This is an interactive virtual classroom with weekly lessons and many games, books, quizzes and tests designed to teach young children all over the world English. This team will also be working closely with a team of animators working on the lessons and another development team in China. This project is just starting and is a great opportunity for you to to help take an idea from conception to production.
Responsibilities:
• Work as part of a team to team to develop an interactive learning environment for teaching English
• Help with the design and creation of an extendable framework for a large scale virtual world
• Develop games and exercises for teaching English
Requirements:
• Experienced with AS3 and Flash IDE
• Experience developing large scale applications in Flash
• Strong understanding of Object Oriented Design principles
• Good communicator and team player
• Ability to thrive under tight deadlines
• Able to manage time efficiently
• Canadian citizen, permanent resident status, or work visa in place
Assets:
• Experienced with Adobe Air
• Knowledge of PHP and/or AMFPHP
• Experience working with video frameworks within flash
• Knowledge of web technologies including HTML, XML and JavaScript
• Knowledge of audio and video compression for the web
• Experience in online games development
• Experience with development of virtual worlds
• Fluency in Mandarin (we will be working with a team in China)
