The Department of Modern Languages and Literatures at America University invites applications for a tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor of Arabic Studies in the field. Duties include teaching and supervision of undergraduate students. The ideal candidate will have teaching experience, a Ph. D. or equivalent, and a publication record in this area. The ability to teach Arab History as well as the Arabic Language would be a definite asset. The successful candidate should have native or near-native proficiency in Arabic. The appointment will commence July 1, 2011 and is subject to budgetary approval. Rank and salary will be commensurate with qualifications.
