Software Test Engineer-Level II-TEMP (Atlanta, GA)

A STE Level II provides an independent, objective view of the software quality as evidenced through software testing and identification of software defects. A STE Level II assists with test design and/or tests software modules. With supervision, may be involved throughout the entire development life cycle.

A STE Level II tests to ensure that the software:
  • Meets the business and technical requirements that guided its design and development
  • Works as expected
  • Can be implemented with the same characteristics
A STE Level II works with the stakeholders and QA-Documentation to ensure that the software works as designed. Identifies and documents defects.

Specific:
  • Analyze specifications and user stories
  • Interview Business Analysts, Product Owners, Developers, other QA-Doc personnel
  • Research pertinent information related to the assigned scope of work
  • Analyze specifications and user stories
  • Develop and maintain simple test cases
  • Execute manual and automated test cases
  • Identify defects and questionable functions; manage defects through to closure
  • May prepare schedule for their own projects
  • Learn and stay current on NG policies, procedures and standards; abide to established standards and processes


  • >1 Yrs software testing, information technology, or related experience
  • Knowledgeable in flow charting
  • Strong verbal and written communications skills
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Strong team player
  • Good organization skills. Must be able to handle multiple tasks concurrently
  • Knowledge of testing methods and standards
  • Knowledge of database management system(s)
  • Knowledge of MS operating systems, basic scripting, and programming
